The Artwork

The Azure Garden of Songbirds

Birds appear at different heights among branching stems, blossoms and fruit-like floral clusters, creating a lively upward movement. The azure border, burgundy lower band and multicoloured corner fields bring a strong decorative frame to the dense garden interior.

Handwoven in Qom over approximately two years with a fine 74 Raj structure, this signed 100 × 150 cm pure silk carpet is accompanied by a certificate from the Qom Hand-Woven Carpet Weavers’ Union. Its balanced scale and brilliant border colour make it both collectible and highly displayable.
