The Artwork

The Crimson Orchard of Nightingales

Two flowering trees rise through the dark field in a cascade of crimson, ivory and coral blossoms, while paired nightingales rest at the base of the garden. The emerald border and symmetrical palmettes give the pictorial composition a formal Persian frame.

Handwoven in Qom over approximately two years with a fine 74 Raj structure, this signed 80 × 120 cm pure silk carpet is accompanied by a certificate from the Qom Hand-Woven Carpet Weavers’ Union. Its intimate scale and balanced floral imagery make it ideal for close viewing.
