The Artwork

The Midnight Bouquet of Birds

A sweeping bouquet of roses, irises and garden flowers occupies the upper field, leaving areas of open black ground that enhance the silk’s depth and sheen. Small birds among the blossoms introduce movement and a refined pictorial quality.

Handwoven in Qom over approximately two years with a fine 74 Raj structure, this signed 80 × 120 cm pure silk carpet is accompanied by a certificate from the Qom Hand-Woven Carpet Weavers’ Union. Its open field and naturalistic flowers distinguish it from denser traditional garden compositions.
