The Artwork

The Obsidian Labyrinth Medallion

A circular geometric medallion sits within an intricate labyrinth of interlocking lines, surrounded by sweeping acanthus leaves, floral rosettes and architectural borders. Obsidian black, slate blue, bronze and antique gold create a restrained yet dramatic palette.

Handwoven in Qom over approximately two years with a fine 74 Raj structure, this signed 100 × 150 cm pure silk carpet is accompanied by a certificate from the Qom Hand-Woven Carpet Weavers’ Union. Its fusion of geometric structure and baroque ornament gives it a distinctive contemporary identity.
